Shady Hill School (www.shs.org) is a private Pre-K through 8 independent day school located in Cambridge. Our Business Office is looking for an Accounting Assistant to perform a variety of accounting, payroll, and clerical tasks starting in August. We are looking for candidates who have recently graduated from college with a strong academic record and excellent Excel, writing, and communication skills. This is an ideal position for someone interested in working in a not-for-profit or educational setting in finance and accounting.

The ideal candidate will also be;

• Able to demonstrate good computer / systems skills

The job will consist of the following activities;

• Creating and booking monthly journal entries
• Reconciling monthly bank statements to the General Ledger
• Reconciling various balance sheet accounts
• Scanning and filing various documents
• Creating mail merge documents
• Assisting with bi-weekly payroll process using ADP Workforce Now
• Special Projects as assigned

The position offers a pleasant working environment, a generous benefits package, free parking, and an hourly pay rate of $15.00 to $17.00 depending upon experience. This position is a 37.5 hour per week position.
