Personal Finance Links ? Adjusting Edition

by Andy Hough on November 4, 2012

October brought a lot of changes to my life and I am slowly adjusting to them. One thing I?m going to do to adjust is to publish only twice a week on Tight Fisted Miser.? I?d been trying to keep a MWF and links post on Sunday schedule but wasn?t doing very good at keeping it.? My new plan is to have new posts on Mondays and Thursdays and links posts most Sundays.

I had two goals in October, to lose 5 pounds and to write and publish a book.?? Neither one of those happened.? I didn?t really have time to do the book because I started my law job.? I could have still lost 5 pounds though.? I?ll have to come up with new plans to accomplish those goals.

Many of you should be adjusting to the end of Daylight Saving Time last night.? It was a double bonus for me.? Not only did I get an extra hour or sleep, I also got paid for it.

Here are some of my favorite personal finance posts from the past couple of weeks.

Being poor in North America at The Outlier Model.? This is an interesting post.? Although I?ve often had a very low income, I?ve never really thought of myself as poor.

Discover Bank $25 account opening bonus at Bank Bonuses. This is a pretty good deal that I already took advantage of last year.

1 Year Blogoversary Giveaway at Work Save Live.? You can win lots of great prizes including an Apple iPad mini.

Accepting the value of an emergency fund at Modest Money.? An emergency fund can be a big help.
